Alderson punches ticket to National FFA Competition
LINCOLN - Students from across the state were awarded Proficiency Awards at the 96th annual Nebraska FFA State Convention held April 3-5. The Proficiency Awards program encourages members to set personal goals and learn practical skills. The program provides recognition to FFA members for exceptional accomplishments and excellence in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs. The Supervised Agricultural Experience program is an individualized application of classroom learning beyond scheduled class time and has been a standard part of agricultural education since 1917. Students’ SAEs may be entrepreneurial enterprises, employment experiences or research projects. Student’s applications won district competitions before being considered by the state-selected committee in February. PLAINVIEW – The Osmond Tigers competed in the Neligh-Oakdale invitational on Tuesday, April 9. The meet was moved to the Plainview track facility due to wet conditions at Neligh-Oakdale’s track.

Mike Trader basketball camps to be held
Mike Trader’s Annual Mid-America Basketball Camp will conduct eight individual sessions this summer. The overnight and commuter camps for boys and girls will be held June 30-July 3 at Central Community College (Platte Campus) in Columbus and July 8-11 at Doane University.

Osmond-Randolph Hawks season ends in subdistricts
HARTINGTON – On Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Osmond-Randolph Hawks took on the Cedar Catholic Trojans in the first round of subdistrict play at Hartington Cedar Catholic. The Trojans showed why they are one of the top ranked teams in Class C2, and took down the Hawks in convincing fashion, Senior Xander Brown led O-R in scoring with 10 points, all of which came in the first half. Logan Lienemann came next with 8 points, and freshman Ryan Engel scored 5. Owen Severson knocked down a 3 for his only points of the night, and Baylen Guenther rounded out the scoring with a free throw.

Lady Hawks 2023-24 basketball season recapped
OSMOND – The 2023-24 Lady Hawks started basketball practice on Nov. 13. Twenty one girls from Osmond and Randolph made up the team this year, led by five seniors: Ella Scott, Caydence Krienert, Juliana Kumm, Anabelle Vinson, and Tessa Gardner. The Hawks finished with a 7-16 record this year.
