Fischer: We Must Respond to Iran’s Terror
In 1988, the American frigate USS Samuel B. Roberts struck an Iranian mine in international waters. The explosion severely damaged the boat and injured several Americans. Thankfully, no one was killed – but wisely, President Reagan didn’t wait for tragedy to occur before acting. Just four days later, the United States launched Operation Praying Mantis. Our Navy destroyed two Iranian oil platforms, three warships, two fighter jets, and multiple other vessels.

Students recognized for perfect attendance
OSMOND – The following Osmond Community School students have been recognized for perfect at- tendance during the first semester of the 2023-24 school year. A total of six students achieved perfect attendance for the semester: Kindergarten – Beau Bahr Second grade – Finley Brummels Fifth grade – Lane Brummels, Max Blunck Sixth grade – Alyvia Koehler, Ashlynn Riley In addition, 19 students achieved perfect attendance for the second quarter. Boys’ junior high basketball team has busy week
(By Coach Brian Guenther) On Monday, Jan. 29, the young Hawks traveled to Elgin to take on the Eagles. The Eagles came out on top with a score of 36-19. Scoring for Osmond-Randolph included Jaylen Junck 5, Bentley Reimers 4, Bentley Boncynski 4, Easton Steinkraus 2, Eli Bermel 2, and Payton Kuchta 2.

Bolz, Vinson are conference wrestling champs
The Osmond wrestling team had a busy week, with the conference meet on Tuesday and a tournament at Clarkson-Leigh on Friday.

Lady Hawks take fifth in conference play
Lewis and Clark Conference basketball tournament action resumed on Tuesday, Jan. 30, as the Osmond-Randolph Hawks hosted Winside in Osmond in the consolation bracket. The Hawks showed some strong defense, holding Winside to only 3 points in the first quarter. The second quarter saw senior Ella Scott ignite the Hawks offense as she poured in 8 points in the quarter to bring her first half total to 13 points.

WWO wrestlers travel to two tournaments
Some of the WWO wrestlers traveled to either Elkhorn Valley or Wayne on Sunday, Feb. 4. The young wrestlers worked very hard and showed a lot of improvement.

Hawks finish fourth in conference tourney
The Osmond-Randolph Hawks faced another busy week of basketball in the Clark Division of the Lewis and Clark Conference tournament this week. In the quarterfinal opener, the team faced Winside who dealt the Hawks a narrow defeat the previous week.
