Homeschool Hikes set for Sept. 18-19 at Schramm – Homeschool families for ages 5 and up are invited to join an outdoor educator on a guided hike at Schramm Park State Recreation Area near Gretna during the Homeschool Hikes program at 9 a.m. Sept. 18 and 1 p.m. Sept. 19. Special session ends with slight decrease
The Legislature concluded the special session that was called to relieve property taxes on Tuesday, August20.Afteracontentiousstart, senators agreed to compromise on legislation that will frontload the Nebraska Property Tax Incentive Act credits from LB1107 (2020) directly onto taxpayer’s property tax statements, trim and adjust the state budget by $185 million, and tighten existing property tax levy caps for counties, cities, villages to the greater of inflation or 0 percent. Of the 81 bills and 24 resolutions introduced, only 4 became law. All four bills that were given final approval will go into effect upon the governor’s signature.
