Peace on Earth
Dear Osmond Community, Many Christmas’ ago, my uncle had an idea. He thought he would stir things up a bit when it came time for me and my cousins to open up our presents. So what did he do??? He hid them! He had us cousins search around Grandma and Grandpa’s house, following clue after clue. I don’t remember all of the places we looked, but I do remember digging through Grandma’s cleaning closet at one point. We took quite some time to find our gifts!

The Christmas Wreath

Their play, which would come to be called the “Light of the World” pageant, brought the Christmas story to life with color and excitement.

Seeing Santa at the Brandeis Store
By 1900, many department stores across America featured a live Santa Claus during the holiday season. Children typically sat on his lap and whispered their Christmas wishes into his ear. The Omaha Daily News on Dec. 18, 1909, published an interview with an Omaha man, Gust Schommer, “who plays Saint Nick at the Brandeis stores.”
