OSMOND — Osmond's Sons of the American Legion Squadron 326 re- cently received a continuous member certificate from the national organization commemorating its 10th year in service.
The Osmond squadron was organized in January of 2011 with 22 men joining. They are now 74 members strong.
The purpose of the Sons of the American Legion organization is the Five-Point Program of Service: patriotism, citizenship, discipline, leadership and legionism.
The purpose of the local group is to assist the Osmond American Legion veterans. They host the annual Christmas Wishes program and support and sponsor other community events.
Osmond SAL Commander Jay Reikofski was presented the certificate by Harold Thompson, the national assistant adjutant Emeritus for the Sons of the American Legion, and a member of Norfolk Squadron 16.
The certificate states: "Be it known that proper attestation has been provided to the effect that Osmond Squadron #326 has been chartered in good standing of the Sons of the American Legion Detachment of Nebraska continuously for the period of 10 years.
“And be it further known that such record of consistent loyalty to the Sons of the American Legion merits the honor of being cited as an outstanding contributor to the programs of the Sons of the American Legion.”
