Nebraska chicken, egg numbers reported
LINCOLN – All layers in Nebraska during November 2023 totaled 8.17 million, up from 7.23 million the previous year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Nebraska hog inventory up 6%
LINCOLN – Nebraska inventory of all hogs and pigs on Dec. 1, 2023, was 3.80 million head, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This was up 6% from Dec. 1, 2022, and up 1% from Sept. 1, 2023.

Be aware of fishing regulation changes
Anglers need to be aware of fishing regulation changes in Nebraska that take effect Jan. 1, 2024. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s changes to 2024 fishing rules are: Archery Paddlefish – Archery paddlefish permit holders may har - vest paddlefish in the spillway below Gavins Point Dam. The north wall and discharge canal remain closed to archery paddlefish fishing.
