St. Mary’s soup dinner is Sunday
OSMOND – St. Mary’s Catholic School will host a soup dinner on Sunday, Feb. 25. It will take place at the Osmond city auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Homemade chicken noodle soup, chili and taverns will be served, along with homemade dessert. Also back this year is an auction of donated items, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Osmond Republican: Our community and friends were so caring and generous to us when our loved one, Eugene, was called home. We have donated a memorial to the ambulance fund. We are so thankful that this service is available in our area and for the people who serve and give such compassion. What if everyone would do a spring campaign offering to the ambulance fund and then again in summer? We can do this as a community working together. Gene would say “Here, here” or “Amen.”

NDA reports case of HPAI in Gage County
LINCOLN The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is reminding poultry owners to continue to monitor for and protect their birds against Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). Recently, NDA in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, confirmed a case of HPAI in Nebraska in a commercial flock in Gage County.

St. Mary’s announces students on honor rolls
OSMOND – St. Mary’s Catholic School recently announced the gold and silver honor rolls for the second quarter and first semester. Requirements for the honor rolls is: Gold, 93% or higher in all subjects; Silver, 85% or higher in all subjects with an average of 90%; Bronze, 85% or higher in all subjects.

Warneke, Brandt tell of accident, Samaritans
(By Regina Lorenz, Osmond Republican) OSMOND – The group of people who came out for the book signing of Kent and Kevin Warneke’s book, “Saving Harlan Brandt: The Survivor and His Good Samaritans” on Wednesday, Feb. 7, was pleasantly surprised to see that, in addition to co-author Kent Warneke, survivor Harlan Brandt was also in attendance.
