LINCOLN - For the week ending March 24, 2024, topsoil moisture supplies rated 13% very short, 34% short, 52% adequate, and 1% surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 14% very short, 45% short, 39% adequate, and 2% surplus.

‘Nebraska Stories’ features Welsh immigrants, mysterious masks, tiny courthouse
LINCOLN – Stories in four April episodes of “Nebraska Stories” include a Nebraska transplant from Michigan who finds parallels between his own journey and those who came from Wales to Wymore; a collection of 69 masks that border on bizarre; and a tiny courthouse featured on Ripley’s “Believe it or Not.”

Nebraska cattle on feed is up 1%
LINCOLN – Nebraska feedlots, with capacities of 1,000 or more head, contained 2.56 million cattle on feed on March 1, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. This inventory was up 1% from last year.

EMS crew to host Windsor loin dinner
OSMOND – The Osmond ambulance crew will be hosting a Wind- sor loin dinner on Sunday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city auditorium. The meal will include Windsor loin, baked potato, green beans, roll and dessert. The price of the meal will be free will donation.

ESU 8 K-12 Art Show to be held April 5-7
NELIGH - The 2024 ESU 8 K-12 Art Show will be held at the Ante lope County Fairgrounds Building in Neligh. K-12 student artwork will be displayed from across the seven- county region, Antelope, Boyd, Holt, Madison, Pierce, Stanton and Wheeler counties, all served by ESU 8.

State Fair announces Stampede Series, Twisted Chrome Series
The Nebraska State Fair once again will be filled with thrilling, mud- slinging action with the organization of dirt attractions into the Stampede Series to open the fair and the Twisted Chrome Series presented by Motoplex of Norfolk to bring the fair to a close.
