14, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Terry Makelin officiated the service. Organist was Lindsay Skroch. Pallbearers were Ryan Brand, Landon Brand, David Synovec, Allen Henery, Scott Henery and Dale Coy.

Interment was at Prospect View Cemetery in rural Pierce. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk.

Rod passed away on Tuesday, Dec.

10, 2024, at the CHI Health Plainview Hospital in Plainview. Stonacek Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Rod was born on Nov. 4, 1936, in Pierce to Leslie and Cleo (Holmes) Brand. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster.

Rod grew up in Foster and attended grade school there to the eighth grade.

He married Joyce Henery on April 28, 1963, at United Methodist Church in Plainview. He then worked for Reikofski Grain Elevator for 50 years and later the Pierce Elevator for eight years. Rod loved gardening and fishing. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Churchin Foster, the church board, and the Foster Town Board.

Survivors include his spouse, Joyce Brand, of Foster; sons Richard Brand and Ronald (Mary) Brand of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Landon (Hannah) Brand of Norfolk, Ryan (Katie) Brand of Lincoln, and Tyler Brand (McKenna Baker) of Omaha, and four great-grandchildren, Harlee, Madeline, Payton, and Maylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Cleo Brand; brothers Bruce Brand, Clayton Brand and Russell Brand, and sisters Delores Brand, Frances Keller, and Bonnie Baber.
