NORFOLK – Private family service for Robin Reed, 67, of Norfolk, formerly of Pierce, was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Rev. Josh Alloway officiated the service. Private family burial was held at Prospect View Cemetery in Pierce. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to the family for a later designation or to a school program that Robin taught or coached at. Robin passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Robin was born on July 8, 1956, in Osmond to Vernon “Chick” and Dolores “Dee” (Henderson) Reed. He graduated from Osmond High School in 1974, received his Bachelors in Education at Yankton College, as well as San Francisco College of Mortuary Science degree in 1981. Robin married Dona Ray on June 14, 1980 in Yankton, SD. Robin worked for his father-in-law as a funeral director for four years in Yankton and Bloomfield before finding his love for teaching and coaching. Robin was known by many people as a very successful teacher, coach, and activities director in towns such as: Newman Grove, Bloomfield, Broken Bow, Randolph, Coleridge, Blair, and Plainview. Robin taught for 33 years and was an activities director for four years. Robin coached every sport at some level except wrestling. Robin was an assistant coach when he won state football titles in Bloomfield in 1992 and Coleridge in 1997. Robin was a member of the Methodist Church in Pierce for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Dona Reed, of Pierce; children Tahnee Reed (Maria Gernandizo) of Orlando, FL, Connor (Jordan) Reed of South Jordan, UT, and their sons Carson, Luke, and expecting another boy in September, and Timaree (Ryne) Kludt of Sioux Falls, SD, expecting their first in No vember; mother Dee Reed of Osmond, and sister Rae Ann (Wayne) Brantley of Aurora, CO.
Robin was preceded in death by his father Chick Reed and son Bo Reed in infancy.
