WAUSA – March 23 is set to be a busy day in Wausa.
The 2024 Wausa Hog Roast, hosted by the Wausa Community Club, is scheduled to be held at the Wausa Auditorium 5-11 p.m., while this year’s Wausa Alumni Volleyball Tournament will be held throughout that day at Wausa Public Schools.
For the Hog Roast, supper will be held from 5-8 p.m., followed by an auction at 8 p.m. and a live band – The Farmers of Hartington – from 8:30-11 p.m.
All proceeds from the event – which will have a Hawaiian theme – will go toward future updates at Wausa’s Gladstone Park. If people wear attire that goes with the theme, they will be entered into a $100 drawing.
The auditorium will be closed from March 21-24 for the setup and cleanup for the Hog Roast.
For the volleyball tournament, only one Wausa alumnus is needed per team. The event is a fundraiser for a Wausa youth group mission trip to Maine at the end of June.
People have until March 21 to register their volleyball teams for the tournament, which has information on its Facebook and Instagram pages, or people may contact Allison Cunningham at 515-419-3625 or Wausa High School senior Hadley Vanness.
