CENTER – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office hosted a tactical medical treatment class on March 1.
Twenty-two law enforcement officers from northeast Nebraska participated in the course, which was taught by federal special agent medics. The medics are part of the FBI SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) Team and provide care in high-stress tactical situations.
The law enforcement officers were trained in treating trauma injuries they or members of the public might suffer during violent incidents. There was both classroom and hands-on training.
The Bloomfield, Creighton, Pierce, Verdigre and Santee Sioux Nation Police Departments as well as the Knox County and Pierce County Sheriff’s Offices were represented.
