CENTER – Enrollment in Knox County 4-H is taking place right now as the organization celebrates Nebraska 4-H Month in 2024.

Knox County 4-H encourages young people to join the nation’s largest youth development organization.

4-H is a volunteer-led organization that reaches youth through a variety of programs in both rural and urban settings. The programs are hands-on, age-appropriate and university-based.

The organization helps youth improve their self-confidence, learn responsibility and develop leadership, citizenship, communication and decision-making skills that can be applied over a lifetime.

Through 4-H, youth have fun learning with new and old friends in clubs and classrooms, on tours and trips, and at meetings, social activities, camps and fairs.

For older teenagers, the organization offers opportunities to develop and test their leadership skills as 4-H volunteers working with youth.

4-H offers something for everyone, as there are many different project areas to choose from to suit all interests and hobbies.

The organization is for youth ages 5-18 as of Jan. 1. Enrollments are encouraged by April 15.

For details on how to enroll children in 4-H, people may call Nebraska Extension in Knox County at 402-288-5611 or visit knox.unl.edu.
