OSMOND — Commander Dave Kruse conducted the regular meeting of American Legion Post 326 on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Colors were presented and the POW/MIA flag was placed by Vice Commander Roger Johnson. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present and a prayer was offered by Chaplain Wes Kumm.

The commander thanked Legion and Sons of the American Legion (SAL) members for attending Mike Alaxender’s funeral and Gene Schmit’s funeral. The commander also thanked Legion members and SAL members for attend- ing the November Veterans Day program at the public and Catholic schools, and the SAL members for putting up flags for Veterans Day.

The commander thanked Ron Stech, Chris Adamson and Dallas Steckel-

burg for the presentation on flag etiquette to the fifth graders, and said he had received a thank you from the fifth grade class.

Legion members received an update on the coats they received through a generous donation from Bud and Maxine Gutz and daughters Linda Hansen, Barb Maxey, Deb Pohlman and Brenda Schmit. The patches have been sewn on and the coats were delivered back to the Legion. Members expressed their thanks to the Gutz family for the coats, which will be worn at military funerals during the winter.

The commander closed the meeting and a prayer was offer by Chaplain Kumm. The commander then invited all present to enjoy the evening meal of chili and oysters prepared by Tom Borst, Red Aschoff, Jerry Dennis, Tom Kruse and the fire department.
