CENTER – The youngest members of 4-H are called Clover Kids, who are children ages 5-7.

This program is designed as a non-formal, noncompetitive approach to developing confidence, social skills, decision-making abilities and subject matter knowledge.

Clover Kids can participate in a variety of noncompetitive projects in Knox County and may exhibit projects at the Knox County Fair in Bloomfield. Exhibiting at the fair is an opportunity and not a requirement.

Some of the additional opportunities Clover Kids can be involved in include the Public Speaking and Demonstration contests, Favorite Foods, Fashion Revue, Clover Kid Camp and Livestock Projects, except for large animals, such as horses and beef cattle.

Being a Clover Kid is a great way to get involved and learn about all of the exciting hands-on learning opportunities 4-H has to offer.

Not a member of 4-H, yet? Not a problem. Children can sign up anytime. If people have a child who would like to be a Clover Kid, the registration process is online.

People may visit knox.unl.edu for more information on how to become involved or about the registration process or contact Nebraska Extension in Knox County in Center at 402-288-5611.
