BLOOMFIELD – The Piecemakers Quilt Club met on Feb. 8 at the Good Samaritan Society’s Sunset View assisted living facility in Bloomfield after not meeting in January due to winter weather.

Those present were Lois Tangeman, Garnet Anderson, Barb Gillilan, Carolyn Hall, Jan Hoebelheinrich and Carmella Kinkaid. Irene Utecht from Good Samaritan was a guest. Bonnie Suhr was not able to attend due to illness. She was greatly missed and all wish her a speedy recovery.

Garnet passed out “Project Tracker Sheets” for everyone to help in quilt planning. A quilt project for the group to raffle off was discussed, with members bringing ideas to the club’s next meeting.

Garnet suggested a “quilt as you go” for all those in the club who would like to learn a new skill. All members were in favor of trying it.

A quilt shop tour was discussed for end of May or early June. Places to go suggested were Akron, Iowa, Alcester, S.D., and Canton, S.D.

For show-and-tell, Carmella brought a quilt she just finished for a granddaughter’s graduation this May.

Charity quilts were discussed; Barb will finish the one ready to quilt and bind. Lois will work on finishing the top of another. Carmella has the top of one done and will finish it before the club’s next meeting set for March 14.
