Tiger wrestlers compete at district meet

WEEPING WATER – This past weekend, the Osmond High School wrestling team competed at district wrestling in Weeping Water. The boys wrestled very well coming into a very hard district with a lot of wrestlers that were ranked in the state.

WEEPING WATER — This past weekend, the Osmond High School wrestling team competed at district wrestling in Weeping Water. The boys wrestled very well coming into a very hard district with a lot of wrestlers that were ranked in the state.

Each wrestler competed at their best, making it through a couple of rounds, while two of the wrestlers — Kaleb Gardner and Jaxon Vinson — just fell short of going to state in the heartbreak round.

“We had some tough matches with some wins and some losses, but as coaches we are very proud of each and every one of our wrestlers giving their 100% each time,” said Coaches Nathan and Patrick Vinson. “We also are extremely proud of all of their hard work and dedication they have put throughout the season and seeing how they have grown as an individual and as a team. We couldn’t ask for a better season. Can’t wait to see what next season holds.”

125 lbs. — Mason True received a bye in the first round, lost by fall to Koenig of Archbishop Bergan, received a bye in the third round, won by fall over Lords of South Loup, lost by 1-8 decision to Mefford of Aquinas Catholic 132 lbs. — Caleb Vinson won by fall over Fores of Archbishop Bergan, lost by 0-5 decision to Mason of South Loup, won by fall over Cole of St. Mary’s, lost by fall to Vandenberg of Aquinas Catholic 144 lbs. — Jaxon Vinson won by fall over Shubert of Elm Creek, won by fall over Schwarz of Palmer, won by fall over Bantam of Southern Valley, lost by 0-10 major decision to Kavan of Aquinas Catholic, lost in 8-10 sudden victory -1 to Payne of Neligh-Oakdale 144 lbs. — Nicolas Vlasco received a bye in the first round, lost by fall to Jasnoch of Ravenna, won by fall over Shubert of Elm Creek, lost by fall to Kellogg of Archbishop Bergan 150 lbs. — Kaleb Gardner won by fall over Jordan of Sutton, lost by 0-8 major decision to Wells of Anselmo-Merna, won by 0-14 major decision over Scott of Aquinas Catholic, won by 0-6 decision over Brown of Bertrand, lost by fall to Jarosik of Sandy Creek 215 lbs. — Carson Bolz won by fall over Keith of Centennial, lost by fall to Keene of Weeping Water, lost by fall to Patchin of Centennial
