PLAINVIEW - On Friday, April 4, the Osmond track team traveled to Plainview and competed in the Ray Doerr Invitational. It was a very tough 16-team field and the weather was not very nice. A steady drizzle and temps in the low 40’s all combined for a very challenging day.
The Tigers did win some medals on the day. Senior Noah Geneski earned a fifth-place finish in the 110 high hurdles. He ran his best time of the season of 18.45. He was close in the 300 hurdles as his 48.87 was ninth overall.
Caleb Vinson had a great finish in the 800 meters, passing runners to fin - ish in fifth place in a time of 2:20.33.
Jaxon Vinson was ninth overall, timed at 2:23.77. Caleb also was close in the 400 meters as his 58.53 was eighth overall.
The last event of the day was the 1,600-relay and the Tigers placed fifth. Team members Jaxon Vinson, Caleb Vinson, Mason True and Noah Geneski finished the race in a time of 4:04.01.
Mason True was close in both the 100 and 200 meters, finishing eighth in the 100 meters (12.49) and ninth in the 200 meters (26.19). Donovan Heiman was ninth in the 110 high
hurdles in a time of 21.99. The 400-relay team finished in sev - enth in a time of 52.17. Team members were Noah Geneski, Jaxon Vinson, Donovan Heiman and Mason True.
Korrine Moes had the best finish for the girls' team in the triple jump.
Her ninth-place finish measured 28 ft.,
5.75 in. The 400-relay team finished ninth in a time of 61.87. Team members were Addison Miller, Adyson Poellot, Korrine Moes and Carriana Kumm.
“I was proud of our kids' effort in the less-than-ideal weather. They worked hard and gave a good effort against some tough teams,” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier.
