KEARNEY – The sound of music triumphed over the rain on Saturday, March 29, as eight talented students from Osmond took part in the Class D All-State Honor Band at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK). Se - lected through a highly competitive audition process, these young musicians showcased their dedication and passion for the arts in an event that highlighted the best of Nebraska's small-school instrumental talent.

Representing Osmond at the prestigious event were Meagan Wagner, Jaxon Vinson, Jack Berg, Kaleigh Miller, Dawson Gansebom, Donovan Heiman, Erin Wagner and Keely Gubbels. Their hard work and commitment were evident as they performed in a concert that many in attendance likened to a professional recording.

Adding to the excitement of the day, Jack Berg and Erin Wagner earned special recognition by medaling as the top performers in their respective sec - tions. Their accomplishment reflects not only their individual skill but also the strength of the music program in Osmond.

For some of these students, the honor band performance came after a long day of state speech competitions, yet their energy and dedication never wavered. Their ability to seamlessly transition from one demanding event to another is a testament to their resilience and passion for the arts. "It was my absolute privilege as the band director to get to watch my students have such high success in the fine arts. We made it to Kearney just in time to watch them get their state speech medals and then spent the next day watching them grow and truly enjoy playing music. I am so proud of the Osmond band students for all they have accomplished this year. They never stop raising the bar for excellence." said OHS Band Director Christalin Ginn.

Congratulations to the Osmond students for their outstanding achievements at the Class D All-State Honor Band. Their hard work and excellence continue to inspire the community, proving that music truly matters.
