A Message to Bill Ryan: Hello Bill I wanted to write and thank you for your thoughtful columns called “Billy’s Brain”. I continue to receive the Osmond Republican largely due to your column, but my wife relies on it to send cards of Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, and Get Well Soon. It is all a bit quirky, but no different than listening to funeral announcements on the radio. For the record, I don’t do that.
You have a way that touches a nerve. Your writings remind me of great Americans like Mark Twain, Will Rodgers, etc, You could easily host Guttfeld for Fox News. You have that gift.
Osmond, Nebraska is a much richer place because of voices like yours. You cause your readers to use critical thinking skills, take sides, make decisions, defend those positions. We once called this High School Debate.
Thank you for risking more than others think wise, caring more than others think practical, and dreaming dreams that others can’t imagine.
