PLAINVIEW — On Tuesday March 25, the Tigers track and field team traveled over to Plainview for the Plainview, Wausa and Osmond triangular. Though the Tigers were third in both divisions, there were many bright spots.
First-place honors were achieved by Mason True in the 200 meters, Caleb Vinson in the 800 meters, and Jack Berg in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. Deanna Kumm won the 3,200 meters for the girls.
Placing for the boys in the 100 meters was Mason True (11.9), and Mason won the 200 meters in 25.1. Caleb Vinson’s winning time in the 800 meters was 2:17.6 and Jaxon Vinson was third (2:27.4). Jack Berg’s winning 1,600 meters time was 5:42.1, and in the 3,200 meters he ran 12:40.2.
Noah Geneski finished in third in the 110 high hurdles (18.6) and Donovan Heiman was fourth (21.4). Noah was also fourth in the 300 hurdles (49.1).
The boys' 400-relay took second place in 50.4. Team members were Noah Geneski, Jaxon Vinson, Donovan Heiman and Mason True. The 1,600-relay team of Jaxon Vinson, Caleb Vinson, Mason True and Noah Geneski ran a time of 3:57.4 for their runner-up finish.
In the field events, Kaleb Gardner took third place in the discus with a nice distance of 94 ft., 5 in. Easton Steinkraus finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 15 ft., 7 in.
For the girls' team Korrine Moes placed third in the 100 meters (14.7) and Carriana Kumm also earned third place in the 400 meters (1:14.4).
Deanna Kumm finished third in the 1,600 meters (7:31.9) and her winning time in the 3,200 meters was 17:37.5.
The girls' 400-relay team finished second in a time of 63.7. Team members were Addison Miller, Adyson Poellot, Korrine Moes, and Carriana Kumm.
“I thought we competed well, and we did have some other times and distances that were pretty good, but just did not score,” noted Coach Joe Ortmeier.
Osmond will next compete in the Plainview invitational on Friday, April 4, starting at 10 a.m. with field events, and with running events scheduled for 12 p.m.
