The Osmond High School speech team participated in the Atkinson West Holt speech meet in Saturday, Feb. 8, and came home with runner-up honors out of 12 schools placing at the meet.
At the Hartington meet held the previous week, the team placed sev- enth out of 18 schools. There are 15 students on the speech team this year. Patricia Marks is the coach.
Members of the varsity team plac- ing first were: Jack Berg, humorous prose; Erin Wagner and Meagan Wagner, duet.
Placing second were Donovan Heiman and Piper Hoffman in duet acting. Meagan Wagner placed third in serious prose, and the OID team of Jade Halsey, Erin Aschoff, Justin Rohloff, Berg and Meagan Wagner also placed third.
Placing fourth was Ava Reikofski in persuasive speaking, and placing fifth was Erin Aschoff in serious prose.
Hoffman placed sixth in persuasive speaking.
Placing seventh were Erin Wagner in informative speaking, and Reikofski in extemporaneous. Placing eighth was the OID team of Heiman, Hoffman, Kaleigh Miller andAddison Miller; Addison Miller in persuasive speaking, and Erin Aschoff in POI.
JV Competition
For the junior varsity team, Easton Steinkraus placed first in entertain ment, Diana Scott was fourth in serious prose, and Adyson Poellot was fifth in poetry.
