Catholic Schools Week starts Sunday

OSMOND — St. Mary’s School will observe Catholic Schools Week beginning with a Mass on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Kevin Vogel as celebrant. The theme for the observance, which continues through Jan. 31, is “We Got Game at St. Mary’s School.”

After the opening Mass, activities will move to St. Mary’s Parish Center in the school basement where lunch will be provided by St. Mary's As sociation Representing Teachers and Students (SMARTS). A book fair will also be held in the school library that day.

Special activities are planned for Monday through Friday.

Monday, Jan. 27 – Our Students are Sweet. Students will dress in class colors. Celebrate Students: Field trip to watch Omaha Street Percussion Tuesday, Jan. 28 – Guess Who? Vocations! There will be a morning vocations talk speaker, and afternoon games. Students dress as a saint or in school uniform.

Wednesday, Jan. 29 – Battleship of Service. All school service project. Students wear camouflage.

Thursday, Jan. 30 – God is our Game of Life. Students will discover future careers, and there will be community speakers. Students may dress up as a future career.

Friday, Jan. 31 – Twisting up Family Fun! Celebrate Families: There will be a talent show and pizza party. Students will dress in tie dye.
