OSMOND - The 2023-24 Osmond-Randolph Hawks junior high boys' basketball team consists of Talyn Meyer, Bentley Reimers, Jaylen Junck, Easton Steinkraus, Eli Bermel, Bentley Boncynski, Isaac Lienemann, Payton Kuchta, Trenton Wiseley, Tate Broderson, Dawson Gansebom and Ty Sievers, and is coached by Brian Guenther and Rob Engel.
The first game was played on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Hartington/Newcastle.
The Hawks came up short, losing 33-24. Scoring for the Hawks were Jaylen Junck 12, Easton Steinkraus 6, Bentley Boncynski 4, and Payton Kuchta 2.
On Monday, Jan. 22, Creighton came to Randolph to take on the Hawks. In the A game, Creighton came out on top, 35-18. Scoring were Bentley Boncynski 7, Talyn Meyer 3, Tate Broderson 3, Bentley Reimers 2, Eli Bermel 2, and Easton Steinkraus 1. Creighton also won the B game in a close one, 23-19. Scoring for the Hawks were Trenton Wiseley 7, Payton Kuchta 4, Isaac Lienemann 2, Tate Broderson 2, Dawson Gansebom 2, and Ty Sievers 2.
On Wednesday, Jan. 24, the Hawks traveled to Wausa for a rescheduled game because of snow. Wausa came out on top, 34-17. Scoring were Bentley Reimers 10, Jaylen Junck 3, Easton Steinkraus 2, and Eli Bermel 2.
On Friday, Jan. 26, the Hawks traveled to Crofton to take on the Warriors for a double header. In the A game, Crofton won 41-18. Scoring was led by Jaylen Junck with 12, Easton Steinkraus 4, and Bentley Boncynski 2. The B game was also won by Crofton with a score of 42-32. Scoring were Trenton Wiseley 10, Easton Steinkraus 8, Isaac Lienemann 7, and Payton Kuchta 7.
The Hawks then took part in the St. Rose Tournament in Crofton on Saturday, Jan. 27. In game one, the Hawks lost to Creighton 39-22. Scorers included Bentley Reimers 13, Jaylen Junck 7, and Eli Bermel 2. In game two, Wynot came out on top, 32-12. Scoring included Eli Bermel 5, Bentley Reimers 3, and Jaylen Junck 2.
