MANKATO, MN — Keaton Wattier, a sophomore at Wayne State College, set a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles at the Mark Schuck Invitational at Minnesota State in Mankato, MN, on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Wattier ran a time of 8.19 seconds in prelims to break the previous school mark of 8.20 seconds set by Matt Kneifl in 2001. Wattier ran 8.21 in the finals to place fourth in the event. Keaton still holds the 110-meter hurdle record at O’Neill High School with a 14.88.
Keaton is the son of Eric and Lynn Wattier, and grandson of Elizabeth Wattier of Osmond and Theresa Parks of Norfolk.
