January is National RadonAction Month

Did you know that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., and it could be in your home? Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that comes from the ground and can accumulate in homes, posing serious health risks.

Testing your home is easy, affordable, and could save lives. Get your test kit today and take the first step in protecting your family.

For more information on how to test and reduce radon in your home, visit www.ncdhd.ne.gov or contact NCDHD at 402-336-2406.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that homes with radon levels of 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L) or higher should be mitigated. Testing is especially important in Antelope, Boyd, Knox, and Pierce counties, where residents may be at higher risk due to geographic factors.

Don’t wait — take action this January during National Radon Action Month!
