Lady Tigers have busy week
Charley Aschoff takes one up to the basket in game against Randolph

OSMOND — The Osmond Lady Tigers had a busy week of games last week with games against Creighton, Randolph, and Wynot.

Osmond vs. Creighton

On Monday, Dec. 9, the Tigers were on the road playing in Creighton.

Osmond came out strong in the first quarter, building up a lead. Senior Keli Aschoff went down during the first quarter, re-injuring a prior injury, but the Tigers were able to hold a 15-6 lead after on quarter of play.

The Bulldogs used a strong second quarter to close the gap but Osmond was still in front 23-20 going into the intermission.

Creighton continued their strong play and were able to take the lead during the third quarter to be ahead 33-29 going into the fourth quarter.

Osmond was not able to make a come back and Creighton held on for the win, 48-40.

It came down to Creighton getting high percentage, good-looking shots inside; whereas, Osmond settled for outside shots instead of getting the ball inside the defense, especially in the second half.

Despite the loss, Sophia Ganse bom and Carriana Kumm had major contributions to the Tiger effort with 14 points and 8 points, respectively. Score by Quarter Osmond 15 8 6 11 = 40 Creighton 6 14 13 15 = 48

On Friday the 13th, the Tigers trav eled to Wynot to take on the always- tough Wynot Blue Devils. Like the temperature outside that night, the Tigers suffered a cold shooting night all game long.

Despite the cold shooting, Osmond found themselves down by only 9 points going into halftime as Wynot held a 19-10 lead.

However the Blue Devils were able to outscore the Tigers by 10 points alone in the third period to take a 31- 12 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately, Osmond just was not able to get the ball to fall for them and get enough stops on the defensive end to close out the game.

Wynot would claim the victory via a 48-18 final score.

Junior Kaleigh Miller put together a quiet but solid game for the Tigers, leading the team in points with 6, and rebounds with 13, which included 11 on the offensive end.
