ATKINSON — On Saturday, Dec.
7, the Osmond Lady Tigers traveled to Atkinson to take on the West Holt Huskies to open their season.
A late surge towards the end of the first quarter saw the Huskies take a 17-11 advantage after one quarter of play. The second quarter saw both teams amp up the pressure and slow the scoring down as Osmond was only able to net 4 points and held the Huskies to 9 for a halftime score of 15-26 in favor of West Holt.
The second half of play saw a very close and contested battle between the two teams going back and forth, but the Tigers were never able to close the gap on the scoreboard by the final buzzer.
Osmond would lose their season opener by a final score of 30-47.
Freshman Korrine Moes came off the bench to lead the Tigers in scoring with 8 points.

Junior Varsity Action
In two quarters of junior varsity action, the West Holt Huskies were able to take a 27-9 victory from Osmond. Korrine Moes and Charley Aschoff led the Tigers in scoring with 3 points each; Piper Hoffman dropped 2 in the contest, and Kaleigh Miller added a free throw to round out the Tiger scoring.
The Osmond Tigers will have a busy week this week with games on Monday in Creighton, Tuesday in Osmond against Randolph, and Friday they take to the road again for a game against Wynot.
