CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS — Some of Osmond’s old Christmas decorations (above), sold to Monroe, NE, last year, were used as part of the 1st Church of Monroe Christmas Tree Festival last Friday and Saturday. This picture was sent by Grace Luebbers Fricke who lives at Monroe. She was at the festival with her and her husband’s business, RED SHED Finds & Consigns. Grace said, “We love it when folks from Osmond stop in to browse and shop. Judy Kahler, now from David City, and her daughter Michele stopped in a few weeks ago.” Grace is the daughter of George and Julia Luebbers and a 1974 Osmond High School graduate. At left, Boyd Doyle was hanging Christmas decorations on State Street last week, in preparation for the holiday season which is fast approaching. A number of events are planned, beginning with Santa Day on Saturday, December 7, and Christmas Wishes on Sunday, December 8. St. Mary’s School Christmas program will be held on Sunday, December 15, and the public school Christmas concerts are on Tuesday, December 17.
