4-H Achievement Day held in Hadar; Alderson recognized

The Pierce County 4-H Achievement Day was held Sunday, Oct. 20, in Hadar. The 4-H youth and adults participated in bingo.

Four-H Council members were thanked for their years of service. The 4-H leaders were also recognized for their many years of volunteering. Leaders receiving special recognition were: Fifth year, Traci Collison; 10th year, Adam Thompson; 15th year, Curtis Alderson; 20th year, Susan Craft; 30th year Chris Hilkemann; 35th year, Linda Latimer.

Clover Buds, first-year, fifth-year and 10th-year 4-H members were recognized and received certificates and their pins.

Clover Buds members who were recognized included Tate Albers, Lilly Anderson, Levi Bach, Brielle Backer, Ellis Beacom, Hudson Brovont, Kimber Christiansen, Rhaelee Col- lison, Collette Doerr, Kristina Fitch, Holt Fletcher, Oliver Getzschman, Madeline Gubbels, Daily Hansen, Hazel Homing, Levi Huwaldt, Kason Ketelsen, Owen Kilcoin, Cannon Krueger, Riley Kuhl, Gracie Long, Addison May, Xavier Morfeld, Wesley Negrete, Lux Paulsen, Wyatt Pollreisz, Avery Pospisil-Schultz, Isabella Pufahl, Rakota Pufahl, Lauryn Reimers, Colt Spulak, Maddox Sudbeck, Adley Venteicher, Kenley Venteicher, Kip Venteicher, Cooper Volden, Bennett Willer, Bree Willer, Kerrigan Woita, Grayson Wolken, Harmony Zautke, Olivia Zautke.

First-year members recognized were EllieAnderson, ExtynAnderson, Jaislyn Christiansen, Elliott Doerr, Gunar Doty, Elijah Fisher, Nicholas Fisher, Branson Getzschman, Brady Gubbels, Olivia Hille, Emma Jessen, Aubree Kilcoin, Hayden Kilcoin, Braelynn Krueger, Nox Paulsen, Elda Pfanstiel, Chase Schnelle, Jacey Schwede, Hughson Smith, Harper Spiering, Bria Stusse, Peyton Suckstorf, Carter Wolken and Madelyn Wragge.

Fifth-year members recognized were Liam Fletcher, Kennedy Kon ert, Sawyer Konert, Brylee Krueger, Cutter Krueger, Amberlin Marks, Corbyn Robinson, Sydney Robinson and Cameron Wessendorf.

The 10th-year members who were recognized were Jesse Huwaldt, Lilly Kuchta, Weston Stemick and Wyatt Stemick.

Also being recognized were the Ne- braska State Fair special recognition winners — Weston Stemick, reserve champion Hereford or polled Hereford steer; Corbyn Siebrandt, second place intermediate goat showmanship; MatthewAlderson, photography Level 3 portfolio, horticulture-slicing cucumbers; Hallie Spreeman, human development; Brecken Krueger, loaf quick bread; Brandon Thomsen, heirloom treasures and family keepsakes, woodworking.

Article writers for the 2024 Norfolk Daily News 4-H Special Edition recognition were: Brecken Krueger, “Sewing to New Height;” Sara Thom- sen, "Crafting a Rotating, Four-Tiered Jewelry Box From Boxelder and

Walnut Wood;” Brandon Thomsen, "Reviving an Old Sled for My Fam ily Heirlooms 4-H Project;” Sawyer Konert, “My Time in 4-H,” and the youth who had participated in shooting sports contests through the year.

Four-H members graduating from high school with the Class of 2025 will be Jesse Huwaldt, Taydym Koch, Landon Oltjenbruns, Madalyn Pedersen, Dylan Schutt, Weston Stemick and Wyatt Stemick. The graduating seniors who were in 4-H for six years or more were awarded an American Eagle silver coin by the Pierce County 4-H Council.

The Outstanding 4-H Alumni Award was presented to Jim Herian of Pierce. The Friend of 4-H Award was presented to Sid and Terri Sudbeck.

The following awards are awarded based on the Achievement Application that is turned in to the Pierce 4-H Council and then voted upon. Receiving an award for their Outstanding 4-H Achievement Application was Sara Thomsen of Pierce.

The following applied for and received their Level Awards through the Nebraska 4-H Diamond Clover Program. Level 1 – Amethyst was award to Conner Gubbels. Level 3 – Ruby was award to Joseph Gubbels, McKaylin Passyka, and Elizabeth Venteicher.

The Outstanding 4-H Exhibitor is decided by the number of ribbons that a youth receives at the Pierce County Fair. Purples are worth 4, Blues 3, Reds 2, and Whites 1. The 2024 Outstanding 4-H Exhibitor is Matthew Alderson of Osmond.

The Outstanding 4-H Member award is voted upon at the 4-H Council Meeting. The 2024 Outstanding 4-H Member was awarded to Wyatt Stemick and Weston Stemick of Pierce.

The Pierce County 4-H Council and Extension Office Staff extended thanks to trophy donors, adult leaders, volunteers, junior leaders, and 4-H members for making the 2024 project year a great success.
