OSMOND — The American Legion Auxiliary to Unit 326 met Monday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. with Holly Koehler, ChrisAdamson, Diane Borst, Linda Krohn, Michelle Reikofski, Jill Claussen and Barb Rohde in attendance.

Vice President Diane Borst called the meeting to order. The prayer was led by Chaplain Holly Koehler, followed by a moment of silence for departed members, the Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble read by all present.

Mrs. Adamson reported that the hutch donated by the Marvin and Janice Koehler family will be placed where the piano currently stands in the hall. The piano will be donated to the Osmond Senior Citizen Center. The holiday party will be held on Monday, Nov. 18, at 11:30 a.m. at the Legion hall. Bob Stange will cater a Thanksgiving meal. All members are reminded to bring a gift for a man or woman at the Norfolk Veterans Home. These are distributed at Christmas and also used as bingo prizes throughout the year. Members are asked to RSVP to Mrs. Adamson or Mrs. Borst by Tuesday, Nov. 12, if able to attend the meal.

The auxiliary will not meet in December.

Mrs. Rohde and Mrs. Borst attended the ALA district meeting in Chambers on Oct. 6. Amanda Washburn, representing area districts at the state level, and Corrine Janovec, local district president, gave good information and led the district meeting.

Want list items for the veterans at the Norfolk Veterans Home are chair cloth holders for items for recliners, and cash donations for shadow boxes to be placed at each doorway.

Discussion was held on Americanism and the topic, “What Does America the Beautiful Mean to Me?" This is for all local school students in Osmond. Information will be sent to schools/students in January or February 2025.

A memorial for departed member Lorraine Backer was sent.

The meeting adjourned with prayer by Chaplain Koehler.
