The annual third graders fire truck rides and fire station tours were held on Thursday, October 10. In addition to the students from St. Mary’s Catholic School and Osmond Community School, kids from Tigers & Friends Childcare toured the fire station on Thursday. One of the new things the firemen showed the older kids during the tour was how to use a fire extinguisher. They put out several controlled fires first, then had the two third grade teachers take over, to the delight of the third grade students. Students enjoying a fire truck ride during Fire Prevention Week were, back row: Fireman Justin Koehler (left), Braxton Stelling, Tripp Koehler, Makenzie Dick, Sofia Neira-Marin, Alliayah Buhsman-Wattier, Finley Brummels, Shailey Orr, Carter Gansebom, firemen Shannon Wiseley and Dennis Kuhl; middle row: Remi Schieffer, Liam Stech, Clara Steffen, Bo Aschoff, Kinsley Aschoff, Jessa Thilliander, Hazel Steinkraus, Daxtyn Buol (orange), Liam Hart, Beckett Marks, Paisley Christenson; front: firemen Garret Kuhl and Caleb Eckstrom. At right, Sofia Neira-Marin shows off her “firefighter” outfit. See more pictures on another page of this issue, as well as the third grade students’ comments about their week.
