BLOOMFIELD — On Friday, Oct. 11, the Osmond cross country team competed in the Lewis & Clark conference meet at Rolling Hills golf course.
Homer beat Bloomfield-Wausa 24 to 26 for the conference title. On the girls' side, Homer outscored Tri-County Northeast 15 to 33.
Luke Wookman of Bloomfield- Wausa was the individual champion in a time of 17:33.84. The top Tiger runner was Mason True finishing 19th in a time of 19:37.02. Jack Berg was 23rd in 20:32.51, and Donovan Heiman placed 26th in 20:38.41. There were 48 runners in the field. The 48th annual Bloomfield invi tational was scored from the times run at Rolling Hills. In addition, the Norfolk junior varsity was scored with the teams from the Lewis & Clark.
Only one Norfolk runner finished in front of Jack and Donovan, moving them back one place. Mason was still 19th, Jack was 24th and Donovan was 27th with the same times.
In the 2,500-meter junior high race, Trenton Wisely earned a medal, placing 7th in a time of 10:11.89.
“The times at this meet were best of the season and the guys competed hard,” noted Coach Ortmeier. “This was a good meet to prepare for our district meet this Thursday at the Twin Creek golf course north of Pender.”
