CROFTON — Friday Oct. 11, found the Wausa-Osmond Vikings on the road to face the Crofton Warriors, who are favored to win the district outright. It was a beautiful night for football and perhaps the last before the real cold starts setting in.
The Vikings started the game well, driving the ball down the field, turn ing the ball over on downs deep in Crofton's territory. The Vikings then proceeded to stop the Warriors on their first drive.
Four hard-fought quarters found the final score 54 to 6, the Vikings' solo score coming from a 5-yard touchdown pass from Kaleb Gardner to Matthew Schindler.
Offensively, the Vikings passed for 127 yards, Gardner throwing 87 of those yards. Jaxon Vinson rushed 24 yards.
Defensively, the team was led in tackles by Jaxon Vinson with 11 total tackles and Koy Kraft with 6 total tackles.
The team will take on the Niobrara/ Verdigre Cougars in the final regu lar season game Friday, Oct. 18, in Wausa at 3 p.m.
