STANTON — On Thursday, Oct. 3, Osmond traveled to the Elkhorn Acres Golf Course for the Stanton cross country invitational. Seventeen teams competed in the 5K race.
West Point-Beemer won the boys' race 41 to 43 over Pierce. Pender won the girls' race 18 to 47 over West Point-Beemer.
Callie Fisher of Lutheran High Northeast won the girls' race in 20:38.4.
Dawson Meyer of Oakland-Craig won the boys' race in 17:24.0.
Osmond's Mason True finished in 12th place in his best time of the year of 19:13.8. Jack Berg placed 29th in a time of 20:35.5 and Donovan Heiman was next in 30th place in a time of 20:48.8. Those were Jack's and Donovan's best times of the season also.
“The guys ran great; they got out very well and ran very tough at the end, passing runners on the way to the finish line," Coach Joe Ortmeier praised.
Trenton Wisely also had a fine race, also getting a strong start and passing two runners on the way to the finish. He placed sixth in a nice time of 9:14.8.
The Tigers will run Friday, Oct. 11, at the Rolling Hills Golf Course.
This will be the Lewis & Clark Conference meet as well as the 48th Annual Bloomfield Invitational. The boys will run first at 4 p.m., followed by the girls and the combined junior high.
