OSMOND — Osmond residents had the opportunity to hear beautiful music at Poolside Park on Sunday, Sept. 29. Postponed from the week before, Music in the Park featured Tanner Sovereign, a young country music artist with ties to Osmond. His mother is Julie (Buchholz) Sovereign, a 1984 Osmond High School graduate, and his grandmother is Dorothy Bauermeister of Osmond.
Music in the Park was hosted by Community HOME Team and the Osmond Park Board, with proceeds going toward park improvements. About $2,000 was raised on Sunday.
Tanner sang some country favorites as well as songs he wrote himself. After a short break, park board member Marv Kumm addressed the crowd, thanking them for attending and donating to the cause. He then encouraged Tanner’s mom, Julie, to come up and join Tanner on stage. Julie then sang several songs with her son, to the delight of the audience.
Some 116 people were served a pulled pork, hot dog and macaroni salad meal, catered by Traveling Tiger Tavern, during the concert.
