OSMOND — Candidates for the 2024 Homecoming queen and king have been named. Homecoming will be held this Friday, Oct. 4.
Queen candidates this year are Sophia Gansebom, daughter of Pat and Robbie Gansebom; Keely Gubbels, daughter of Jason and Amy Gubbels; Megan Kelly, daughter of Josh and Tiffany Hasler; Brianna Kumm, daughter of Anthony and Sandy Micklevitz; Makenzie Vaughn, daughter of Josh Vaughn and Alison Strivens, and Erin Wagner, daughter of Chris and Robin Wagner.
Candidates for king are Cody Gansebom, son of Shawn and Jennifer Gansebom; Noah Geneski, son of Jake and Rebecca Geneski; Hudson Napier, son of Jacob and Chelsy Blunck and Greg Napier, and Jaxon Vinson, son of Nathan and Terin Vinson.
Kindergarten attendants are Brecklyn Koehler, daughter of Jordan and Ashley Koehler, and Julian Herrera, son of Jerry and Olga Herrera.
The theme for Homecoming 2024 is “A Night at the Luau — Roast the Wildcats!” Spirit week themes are Western Day on Monday, Decades Day: The 80s on Tuesday, Workout Wednesday on Wednesday, Costume Day on Thursday, and Black and Orange Day on Friday.
The elementary students will also have dress-up days during homecoming week. Monday is Western Wear Day; Tuesday is Class Color Day with the following colors for each class: Kindergarten, green; first grade,
gray; second grade, pink; third grade, yello w; fourth grade, blue; fifth grade, purple; sixth grade, white; Wednesday, Workout Gear Day; Thursday, Hawaiian Day, and Friday, Orange and Black Day.
On Thursday, Oct. 3, the marching band will parade through town beginning at 8:15 a.m. and going down Logan Street, returning on State Street.
There will be a pep rally on Friday at 1 p.m. in the school gym to introduce the homecoming court.
The game begins at 7 p.m. Coronation will take place during halftime of the Wausa-Osmond and Hartington-Newcastle game. The homecoming dance will be held from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight.
