The Osmond Randolph Hawks boys team played two games against conference opponents this week and went 1-1, defeating Creighton and falling to Bloomfield.

OSMOND — OnTuesday,Dec. 12, the O-R Hawks faced off against the Bulldogs from Creighton in a home game in Osmond. Both teams traded baskets for the first 4 minutes, until the Hawks took control, finishing the quarter on an 18-1 run to lead 25-10 after the first period.
O-R’s full-court pressure gave the Bulldogs fits in the second quarter, as the lead opened up to 22 points before taking a 41-23 advantage into the halftime locker room.
Creighton would make a rim in the third quarter and close the lead to 9 at 47-38, but the Hawks responded with a 16-3 run that spanned into the 4th quarter to extend the lead to 22 points once again, then cruised to a 68-56 victory.
O-R’srecordimprovedto 1-3 while Creighton fell to 1 -4. The Hawks were a force on the interior throughout the game, out rebounding the Bulldogs by a dominating 53-24 tally.
The Hawks had a balanced scoring attack, led by Xander Brown with 16 points while he also pulled down 8 rebounds. Sophomore Logan Lienemann came next with 15 points and led the team with 4 steals, while Hunter Buchanan hit 2 three-pointers and went 7/8 from the charity stripe for his 13 points.
Luke Harder came up one point shy of a double-double, putting in 9 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Senior Brayden Shearer scored 6 points and secured 9 rebounds, while Owen Severson also scored 6. Baylen Guenther and Matthew Alderson rounded out the scoring with 2 and 1 points, respectively. Freshman Ryan Engel led the team in assists with 3, while also ripping down 6 rebounds.

BLOOMFIELD — On Thursday, Dec. 14, O-R traveled to Bloomfield to take on the Bees, and got beat around in a physical matchup on the road. Bloomfield canned their first 4 threes in the first quarter and never looked back, taking the win 53-23.
Osmond-Randolph had an uncharacteristically rough night shooting the ball, going an abysmal 0/22 from beyond the 3-point line despite generating a lot of good, open shots. The Hawks swiped 18 steals away from the Bees but were unable to convert them into enough points, as their re cord dropped to 1-4 and Bloomfield improved to 6-1 on the season.
In the fifth game of the season, the Hawks saw their fifth different leading scorer,this time infreshmanRyanEngel, who scored 7. Hunter Buchanan scored 4 points and amassed 3 steals in the loss.
Xander Brown, Owen Severson, Baylen Guenther, Logan Lienemann, sophomore Lucas Bartels, and junior Hudson Napier all scored 2 points. Brown led the Hawks on the glass, grabbing 6 rebounds.

The Osmond-Randolph Hawks will be back in action this Thursday, taking on the 7-0 Falcons of Elkhorn Valley in Tilden in the last game before the Holiday Tournament.
