OSMOND — Community HOME Team, in conjunction with the Osmond Park Board, will host Tanner Sovereign for a night of Music in the Park, on Sunday, Sept. 22.
Tanner, who is the grandson of Dorothy Bauermeister of Osmond, and the son of Julie (Buchholz) Sovereign, is a young country music artist from Elkhorn, now based in Omaha. He began singing at a very young age and started his instrumental journey at just 10 years old, playing the violin. Soon after, he began teaching himself guitar and other instruments.
Tanner received a music scholarship to Concordia University in Seward, where he was a member of the Chamber Orchestra. While in college, he began writing and performing small acoustic shows around Nebraska.
Tanner has traveled to Nashville and performed in several venues there. He has opened for several acts like Rodney Atkins, Craig Morgan and Jerrod Neiman. While touring, he played the MGM in Vegas, Ft. Lauderdale in Florida, Beale Street in Memphis and Myrtle Beach, North Carolina. He has also spent time playing on Music Row and Broadway in Nashville.
Tanner has released several songs, including “Darty,” “The Song Of U.S.” and his latest, “Still Good.”
Music in the Park will also feature a meal by Traveling Tiger Tavern with pulled pork, hot dogs and macaroni salad. The meal will be for a free will donation, with proceeds to go toward park improvements.
