OSMOND - A number of budget hearings for political subdivisions, those of Pierce County, Village of McLean, City of Osmond and Osmond Rural Fire District, will take place in coming weeks.
Pierce County
The budget hearing for Pierce County will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m.
The total personal and real property tax requirement for Pierce County is $5,075,000, $635,000 more than last year's $4,440,000. The budget for the ensuing year is $20,503,790.51. Last year, the figure was $22,658,392.72. The proposed tax rate is $0.190005. A year ago, it was $0.196292.
City of Osmond
The city budget hearing takes place on Monday, Sep. 9, at 7 p.m. in the city council meeting room.
The proposed budget for the City of Osmond is $1,708,204.75. Last year, the figure was $1,802,606.37. The non-bond property tax requirement for 2024-25 is $296,942.69. Last year the amount was $272,321.92. The bond retirement property tax requirement is $165,000, the same as last year.
The proposed total property tax request is $461,942.69, and the pro posed tax rate for the ensuing year is .0693777.
Village of McLean
The budget hearing for the Village of McLean will be held Monday, Sept.
9, at 6 p.m. According to the Notice of Budget Hearing, which is printed in this issue of the Republican, the proposed budget disbursements are $147,500, $28,900 more than last year.
Tax asking for the village is $7,207.55, while last year it was $5,991.30. The proposed tax rate this year is $0.450000, the same as last year.
The hearing to set final tax request will follow the budget hearing on Sept. 9.
Osmond Rural Fire District The budget hearing for Osmond
Rural Fire District will take place on
Tuesday, Sep. 10, at 7:45 p.m. at the fire hall meeting room.
The Osmond Rural Fire District has a proposed budget of $490,000 for the 2024-25 year. Last year, the figure was $427,500. The total personal and real property tax requirement for the coming year is $139,835. Last year it was $134,457.
