BLOOMFIELD – Funeral services for Raymon Lush, age 82, of Bloomfield were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at First Trin - ity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Reverend Ryan Janke officiated, with burial in Bloomfield City Cemetery.

BLOOMFIELD — Funeral services for Raymon Lush, age 82, of Bloomfield were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at First Trin - ity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Reverend Ryan Janke officiated, with burial in Bloomfield City Cemetery.

Visitation was on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at First Trinity Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrange ments.

Raymon W. 'Ray' Lush was born to Jay and Bertha Lush in Bloomfield on June 21, 1942. He entered Heaven's glory on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at the age of 82.

Ray lived life to the fullest and his greatest passions were his family, his business, his community, and his faith.

In 1964, Ray married Loretta Braun.

The couple were blessed with three children, Jody (Lori) Lush, Jennifer (Brad) Fink, and Julie (Sjohn) Watson.

In 1982 Ray married Twila Edwards.

Ray was a wonderful stepfather to Twila's three children, Todd (Barb) Edwards, Kent (Janine) Edwards,

and Yvonne (Jim) Pflug. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker, gar dening and spending time with his grandchildren, Marissa and Jacob Lush, Andi and Devan Fink, Chloe Watson, Todd and Matthew (Sara) Edwards, Alyssa Nickolite, Desiree Kostroun and Morgan Asendorf, Zachary (Eliane) Edwards, Jordan (Matthew) Edwards, Jake (Janey) Pflug, Jessie (Drew) Miller and Drew (Dana) Pflug. He was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, Grace Smith, Kaylee and Adeline Edwards, Gracie, Braylee and Zander Edwards, Collin Edwards, Aurora, Marin and Freddie Ray Pflug, and Silas Miller.

After serving in the Army, Ray returned to Bloomfield to work alongside his father Jay. Together they owned J&R Fertilizer Company and the Bloomfield Feed Mill. In 1988, the Bloomfield Feed Mill was sold and at that time he started a new company, Sweet Corn Products. In addition to Sweet Corn Products, he founded NoNo Bird Feeders. Ray had a passion for entrepreneurship.

He was continuously thinking about new ideas and inventions, for which he held many patents. He really enjoyed helping others secure patents as well.

Ray loved Bloomfield, where he lived his entire life and was very active in serving and promoting the community. Ray had a generous spirit and was often found distributing his beloved sweet corn and other garden produce around town. He was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church. He served on the city council for several years. Ray was also an active member of the Bloomfield Community Club, Bloomfield Community Foundation, Northeast Nebraska Economic Development, Knox County Development Agency, and Go Nebraska.

Ray is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings, Clarice (Gene) Gnuse, Bonita (Chuck) Pinkelman, and Ruth (Mick) Howder; brother-in-law, Gene Eckmann; sister-in-law, Kay Lush; and many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Twila; and siblings, Richard Lush and Janet Eckmann.
