OSMOND — Classes are under way for the 2024-25 year at Osmond Community School and St. Mary’s School. Enrollment stands at 209, the same as last year.
Community School
There are 180 students in the 13 grades at Osmond Community School. This is an increase of 9 from last year’s 171.
The number of students in kindergarten through sixth grade is 98, seven more than last year’s 91. Junior high enrollment stands at 24, five more than last year’s 19.
Senior high — grades nine through 12 — has an enrollment total of 56 which is five less than last year's 61.
The largest individual elementary class number this year is sixth grade, which has 20. That is also the largest class in all grades. The largest grade in the high school is the sophomore class, with 17.

St. Mary’s Catholic
Total enrollment at St. Mary’s Catholic School this year stands at 29 students, nine less than last year’s 38. St. Mary’s offers classes for kindergarten through eighth grade.
The breakdown by class: Kindergarten 3 First 6 Second 0 Third 5 Fourth 4 Fifth 3 Sixth 2 Seventh 3 Eighth 3 St. Mary’s also offers prekindergarten classes. The enrollment in it is 12 — three three-year-olds and nine four-year-olds.
Staffing at St. Mary's this year are Cindy Beacom, head teacher and grades one and two; Sonja Kirchoff, grades three and four; Makenzie Vargas, grades five and six; Robin Cheney, grades seven and eight; Rebecca Geneski, kindergarten and preschool, and the pastor, Father Kevin Vogel, who instructs in all grades.
Immanuel Lutheran
Rounding out the numbers are those at Immanuel Lutheran which offers two sections of preschool. The total enrollment is 14, one less than last year. Enrolled are eight four-year-olds and six three-year-olds. The instructor for both sections is Julie Slagle.
Elementary Totals
The kindergarten through sixth grade totals at the two grade schools are one less than last year — 121 this year, compared to 122.
