NORFOLK – A Wausa girl recently netted a win in an annual freethrow- shooting contest.
Wausa seventh-grader Kendra Kleinschmit won first place out of three competitors in the 12- to 13-year-old girls division of the Norfolk Elks Lodge’s Hoop Shoot, which is a free throw program for youth ages 8-13.
The 2024 edition of the event was held on Jan. 6 at the Cox Activities Center on the campus of Northeast Community College in Norfolk.
Kleinschmit’s win qualifies her to move on to the District Hoop Shoot on Feb. 3 in York.
