On Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at approximately 4:25 a.m., a one-vehicle accident occurred approximately three miles northwest of Pierce on Highway 13. The southbound vehicle left the highway, struck a culvert and rolled several times.
Forty-three-year-old Jason D. Roberts of Pierce was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 12 year-old male passenger in the vehicle was transported to Faith Regional Hospital. The Pierce County Sheriff's office is investigating the accident. They were assisted on scene by Pierce Fire and Pierce Police Department.
