Osmond, Wausa schools to conduct feasibility study

(By Wausa Superintendent Brad Hoesing and Osmond Superintendent Steven Bremer) OSMOND – Osmond Community Schools and Wausa Public School districts have agreed to enter into a feasibility study. The two districts have been discussing how they can best partner to best meet the needs of their students. Throughout the various discussions and meetings, both districts have identified several issues to study as we look into the future.

The two districts have been discussing how they can best partner to best meet the needs of their students. Throughout the various discussions and meetings, both districts have identified several issues to study as we look into the future.

Among these issues include academic offerings to our students, funding of our schools, statewide teacher shortage, proposed state legislative changes, student population, maintaining strong music and the arts programs, various extracurricular activities, maintaining strong local schools, and maintaining local control of school decisions.

Both district school boards approved hiring NRCSA (Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association) to conduct a feasibility study. The purpose of a feasibility study is to take a deep look into finances, stu dent enrollment, curricular offerings, student activities, facilities, staffing,
