CENTER – Wausa resident Dan Wamberg has filed for one of the two seats up for election this year on the Village Board of Trustees.

No other non-incumbent from Wausa filed by Aug. 1 at the Knox County Clerk’s Office in Center for the village board race.

Incumbent village board members Cheryl Marks and Ron Nelson decided to not run for re-election to their positions.

Wamberg’s name will appear on Wausa residents’ ballots for the 2024 general election, which is set for Nov. 5.

Non-incumbents interested in filing for this year’s general election had a deadline of 5 p.m., Aug. 1, for the races of village boards across the county, the Cedar-Knox Public Power District Board of Directors, the North Central Public Power District Board of Directors and the Educational Service Units No. 1 and 8 boards of directors.

As a reminder, no write-in votes will be counted unless a person has filed a write-in affidavit and is eligible for the particular race he or she is running for. The filing deadline for write-in candidates is 5 p.m., Oct. 25; again, write-in affidavits are required.

People are asked to call Knox County Clerk Joann Fischer at 402288-5604 if they have any questions on the upcoming general election.
