CENTER – Two Knox County boards are scheduled to hold regular meetings on July 24 in Center.
The county board of supervisors will meet at 9:30 a.m., while the county board of equalization will meet at 10 a.m.
Both boards will gather at the county courthouse. The meetings will be open to the public.
A public hearing has been scheduled for 1 p.m. with the supervisors regarding consideration and action on recommendations from the Knox County Planning Commission on wind energy conversion systems.
The location of the public hearing has been changed to The Barn at God’s Country, located north of Center on Highway 84.
Representatives from National Grid Renewables have previously discussed the North Fork Wind Farm with the supervisors and the planning commission.
The project is proposed to be 600 megawatts in size and contain 130-150 wind turbines that each would be between 600 and 650 feet tall.
An agenda for each board meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the county clerk’s office.
However, each board upon convening has the right to modify its meeting agenda.
