VERDIGRE – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report June 29 of a mailbox being shot at the intersection of 881st Road and 521st Avenue, west of Verdigre.
There was also a report of shots being fired in that area, which were believed to have been fired at road signs nearby. A .280-caliber shell casing was found in that area.
