OSMOND — The Osmond High School 35th biennial alumni reunion will take place this year on Saturday, June 22. Activities will take place at Osmond city auditorium and the street downtown.

The theme for this year’s reunion is “The Orange and the Black.” Anyone who has orange and black memorabilia they would like to have displayed is asked to drop it off at Security Bank, and those who have any old class photos are asked to email them to [email protected].

The reunion will include coffee and cocktail hour, a catered Swiss steak dinner, program, honors and meeting, all at the auditorium.

The Osmond Senior Center and Down Memory Lane museum will be open from 12 to 5 p.m. for those wishing to visit or check out Osmond memorabilia.

Wrapping up the evening will be a street dance which will take place downtown at the "post office corner."

Music will be provided by a live band — the Clay Creek Band. There will no admission charged for this year’s dance. Directions for entering the street dance will be given after the meal.

A dance will also be held downtown on Friday night, which will feature a DJ and Karaoke. Alcoholic beverages will be provided both nights by all three city liquor establishments, Main Street Alley, 3rd Street Bar & Grill and Thomsen’s Corner.

Invitations were previously sent via email, however, printed invitations will be mailed out soon, and it is requested that Osmond alumni respond by June 1.

Those who plan to attend may RSVP via email to osmondalumni@gmail. com, to P.O. Box 219, Osmond, NE 68765, or at Security Bank. Please include names of each guest attending.

Chairman of this year’s reunion is Jeff Luhr (1994). Other members of the committee are Jerry Dennis (1983), Alison (Pfanstiel) Dennis (1986), Margaret (Buchanan) Ryan (1988), Aaron Gutz (2007), Chris Schmit (2012) and Brianna (Kumm) Schmit (2013).

More information about this year’s alumni reunion will be printed at a later date, once everything has been finalized.

Honor classes will be recognized during the program. They include the 25-year classes (1998 and 1999), 50-year classes (1973 and 1974), 60year classes (1963 and 1964), 70 year classes (1953 and 1954) and classes graduating earlier than 1953. Also introduced will be the oldest graduate present and the newest classes — 2023 and 2024. A business meeting will be held after the recognitions.

Randy Jochum, who will celebrate his 50th year at Osmond Community School, will be the keynote speaker.

Osmond alumni are encouraged to wear orange and black to show their school spirit.
