OSMOND — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 326 met for their regular meeting on Monday, June 17, at 7 p.m. with the following members present: Barb Rhode, Diane Borst, Cleo Pfanstiel, Jill Claussen, Michelle Reikofski, and Chris Adamson.
President Barb Rhode called the meeting to order with members present reciting the Pledge, Preamble, and singing of the “National Anthem.” Opening prayer was read.
Michelle Reikofski reported that the annual Poppy Day was a success. Thanks and appreciation is given to all those who graciously and willingly purchased poppies. All proceeds go towards supporting our veterans. Members assisting that day were Cleo Pfanstiel, Linda Krohn, Sue Wingert, Lori Neuhalfen, Diane Hoyt, Chris Adamson, Diane Borst, Marlene Zurovski, Holly Koehler, Amy and Corrine Moes Shelby Kalvelage, Ava Reikofski, Miriam Stelling, and Michelle Reikofski.
The recent Memorial Day program was discussed. Appreciation and thanks is given to all those taking part in making this an always inspirational event in honor of our veterans!
Membership renewal is fast approaching and Diane encouraged all members to do their part in recruiting new members. Chris thanked Diane for preparing the member and program information that will be sent to ALA members upon renewal of their dues for the 2024-25 season. Membership eligibility was reviewed. Those interested in becoming a member should contact Chris Adamson as Membership Chair or any member of ALA.
Memorials will be made to the Department’s Child Welfare Program in memory of deceased members: Maxine Gutz, Cynthia Kumm, Charlotte Blunck, Candace Fritz, and Sharon Broekemeier.
The upcoming Legion picnic in the park was mentioned and will be Thursday, Aug. 1, beginning at 7 p.m. All members and their spouses are invited to attend this annual event.
Members are reminded there are no Auxiliary meetings in July, August or December.
